Rabbi Gershon Weissman

Gershon Weissman is our founding Rabbi.  His love of Jewish music, humor, Israel, and pride in our priceless heritage has inspired so many of our people in our community.  Rabbi Weissman established our congregation with the words "Where people matter most" as a goal where our synagogue will serve all in our community.  He received his BHL, MAHL and rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion Los Angeles and New York and is affililated with the Rabbinical Assembly of Conservative Judaism and the Board of Rabbis of Southern California.  What Rabbi Weissman enjoys most is teaching people of all ages about the wisdom and beauty of Judaism.  He is actively involved in the teaching of our students in our Torah school and our adult education classes. He has been a popular Jewish lecturer in the Conejo Valley Interfaith Community, at Cal Lutheran University, Brandeis-Bardin Institute Elder Hostel Program, and at the American Jewish University Introduction to Judaism Class.

Rabbi Weissman and his wife Sheva are the proud parents of three married children, two of whom live in Israel, and seven grandchildren.
