Education

The New Shul Family Torah School will speak to the needs of today's Jewish families.

Rabbi Gershon and Sheva Weissman will share their love of Torah and Jewish living and guide the children and parents, to be able to lead their own home observances.  Jewish education is about empowering families to celebrate Jewish life in their home and synagogue.  Family education opportunities will enrich and strengthen the students' foundation in Judaism.  This will be a hands on, experiential, unique, creative program experience.

"Jewish life is all about celebration, family and peoplehood," explains Sheva Weissman, "and therefore our program will include Shabbat programs, festive dinners, torah talk, havdallah, singing and chanting, story telling, and creative arts including cooking.

These varied Shabbat and weekday activities will be in addition to the formal study of Hebrew with tutoring once a week.  This unique program includes our Rabbi teaching by using actual ritual items such as a Torah scroll, mezuzah, tefillin, scroll of Esther, tallit, bibles and prayerbooks.  In our program all students will get to learn inspiring wisdom from their rabbi and teachers.
