There's an old saying that "two Jews equals three opinions, four rabbis, and five synagogues." And the Jewish reaction to President Obama's declaration on behalf of same-sex marriage is no different, says Rabbi Michael Barclay of The New Shul. He continues, "At the New Shul, we're committed to educating people about the different aspects of Judaism, and so we decided to host a special evening of dialogue with three major Jewish leaders, each of whom has a different perspective on this volatile issue."

Rabbi Stan Levy, founder of Bet Tzedek and co-founder of the Academy for Jewish Religion Los Angeles (a transdenominational Rabbinical, Cantorial, and Chaplaincy school); Rabbi Shlomo "Schwartzie" Schwartz, international teacher, author, and founder of the Chai Center; and Professor Zev Garber, one of the leading Jewish academics in the world will come together for an evening of dialogue about the Jewish opinions and beliefs surrounding the subject of same-sex marriage.

Rabbi Barclay

Moderated by Rabbi Barclay, the guests will not only present extremely differing views on the topic, but will field questions from the audience regarding the issue of same-sex marriage in a Jewish context.
